This guide has been created for students and instructors to explore how to responsibly and ethically use AI in their work. There is information about how to critically engage with AI tools, examples and further reading on how students and instructors can use AI tools in their work, and information about current AI news, such as ChatGPT.

CAIELI is a collaboration between Libraries & Cultural Resources and Werklund School of Education. This transdisciplinary student-focused initiative aims to encourage effective and ethical use of AI on campus.

The Centre’s innovative programs harness the power of AI to personalize learning and empower students to excel. We aim to cultivate strong digital and information literacy skills that will pave the way for academic success across disciplines.

As we embrace the potential of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technologies in teaching and learning, the resources provided are intended to help educators, students and academic units with their information that helps with decisions on if, how and when to use GenAI .

We will continue to refine and adapt our approach as the field of generative AI evolves.
